MoistureMatic Sensor


The video shows a quick assembly of the MoistureMatic which includes 3D printed components and the electronic hardware.
This smart watering device was created to keep track of various indoor house plants, and notify the user via the Blynk app. Using a Soil Moisture Sensor and a NodeMCU to create this IOT capable device.
Learned:
Dealing with securing sensors in this damp environment. First attempt at trying to create a modular case system to hold all components with waterproofing considerations.
IOT devices using existing clients made for a simple introduction to communicating over the internet and introduced the issues that arise with bandwidth and latency.
